The Elixir of Life
Strand Ellis is an isolated city nestled upon the mountainous Breze Island, south of the Nogan Desert. It is the only city upon the island, but is surrounded by several smaller satellite towns within a few miles of the city limits.
Though a city that is extremely unfriendly to arcane and divine spellcasting, Strand Ellis uses a high level of artifice magic, a rare form of magic utilized through objects, and consequently has one of the world’s largest assortment of magical items, seconded only to Helethrane. The sale of these items is the largest branch of commercial trade within the city, with Jor’s Bazar being the frontrunner business in that trade.
Strand Ellis has a large population of high elves, along with the usual non-savage humanoid races. A very secretive group of high elf representatives govern the city from the capital, a high-walled location that few are allowed access to. Commands are issued from the capital and enacted by the law enforcement that frequents the streets, all without any personal contact from the representatives.
Unique to Strand Ellis is it’s population of warforged “servants,” bought and sold as regular golems of their make and size. Despite the obvious (albeit repressed) sapience of these beings, the citizens of Strand Ellis pay them little more attention than they would their horse or stove, treating them more like machines or beast of burden than as individuals.
